Just because you need to be physically active to be healthy doesn't mean that you need to be bored while you are physically active. We are all terribly familiar with the way people traditionally work out, and while effective it is so dull. There is really nothing wrong with the typical forms of exercise, but a growing segment want more variety and creativity. So if you are one of those who crave more diversity, then you have to read this article.
The danger of television is you become sedentary while you watch, and the problem is compounded when you eat unhealthy snacks, etc. If you have not ever actively worked out while watching TV, then you need to try it out. There is even a program, called "Sit and Be Fit" that is designed to help people get fit while they are sitting still. Be willing to take a chance and experiment with what you can do because it is easy.
Tone and firm your arms and shoulders with counter top push ups in which you just do half of a regular push up. The half push ups are a lot easier than the full ones, so you should not have any problems. You could do about ten or so, and then add ten more each week. After a while you can transition into the full push ups if you want.
Next time you are reading a book or magazines, then take that opportunity to grab some light weights. Once in a while like maybe once or twice a week, do something creative like this.
If you want to be different, fill a plastic jug with water and do bicep curls. If you have never done this, and chances are good you have not, then just give it a shot and see how it feels. There are tons of alternatives that are similar to this, and it's about leveraging time that is otherwise available.
Most people want to look their best and look good, and that is why it is so important to exercise. Good health is always in our top priorities, but most of us think that this involves making regular trips to a gym and doing lots of boring workouts.
